Along his route through the spectacular Hejaz Mountains, UNESCO World Heritage sites rise from epic desert landscapes. Following the traces of Lawrence of Arabia, Schäfer encounters living history—where one man’s actions a century ago still shape the world today.

A forgotten railway once linking Arabia and Germany draws him further north, across one of the largest volcanic fields on Earth. There, he uncovers mysterious megalithic structures dating back more than 7,000 years.

As always, Dirk Schäfer travels by motorcycle—laden with cameras, lenses, and boundless curiosity. Yet this time, something feels different. His instincts tell him this might become his most daring journey ever. Together with seasoned friends, he sets out across the desert, where each mile becomes a test of endurance and trust.

But above all, it is the generosity of the people that stays with him—the kindness of those who, like him, are pulling back the old curtain to reveal a land both ancient and astonishingly new.
